Post independence, there was a school of thought to continue with Muslim electorate in consonance with British policy to ensure representation of Muslims in Parliament. Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel roared and said that India had chosen to be secular, hence there will not be any such reservation based on religion and those who aspire such reservation can go to Pakistan. This was the spirit of young India. Where did it disappear? It lost its way in the labyrinth of misplaced secularism, where appeasement was considered as path to secularism. This will destroy the very spirit of secularism. I call upon my Muslim brothers to realize this and rise to uphold the very spirit of our beloved nation. Jai Hind..
